Winamp Player, maybe you already know the Music Player which was often used on Windows XP PCs before, where I’m sure almost all internet cafes in Indonesia use this Music Player to play various songs including Dear God from Avenged Sevenfold.

Now regarding Winamp, at the end of 2021 a message appeared rumors that Winamp is coming back, where as we know, Winamp has been abandoned for a long time and has not received any updates for the past few years.

Long story short, now April 13, 2023 the official Winamp website page at https://www.winamp.com/ now displays a surprise where Winamp comes with a new, more modern color and style.

As in the picture above, the page now displays how Winamp’s latest Music Player with colors are now more colorful, where at this time maybe this new version of Winamp will be presented like online streaming platforms similar to Spotify.

We can see this by what is described on that page, where the new Winamp will offer Podcasts, radio stations, audio books and downloads simultaneously, besides that if we click on the Play button, we will be directed to the https://player. winamp.com/ which of course we have to do sign up first.

After process sign up done, we will get a display like in the following image, complete with a number of demos that you may be familiar with.

Even so, unfortunately there is still little that we can do in this service considering that it is still new and maybe still in testing, other than that it seems that this new Winamp will allow users to subscribe to a number of artists in this service.

Desktop version of Winamp?

If you are waiting for the latest Desktop version of Winamp, unfortunately this version is still not available and we are still presented with version 5.9.1 which has been around for several years, but at least with this news it is likely that the Desktop version will also be developed and will be released soon in the future .

Well, the new Winamp is not perfect and may still be in its early stages, but again, with this change, Winamp will most likely return to play in the new Music Player market and will try to compete with a number of other big names, but will Winamp succeed? Comment below guys, and let’s have an opinion about it.
