As we already know, previously Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Dev Build 23493 which includes a number of new features such as improvements snap layouts previously introduced in Insider Dev (old) Build 25300, there is a page home in Settings Apps, and even Windows Copilot.

So, in this article, I will share my experience and opinion about one of Microsoft’s mainstay features in this Insider Dev build, namely Windows Copilot, which is said to be an AI-based digital assistant that works directly on Windows 11.

Early Introduction to Windows Copilot

Windows Copilot itself was first introduced at the Microsoft Build 2023 event in May 2023, where this feature itself is intended to help and facilitate users in their daily activities, such as managing time, working with documents and much more.

Basically Windows Copilot will work like this Cortana (if you still remember), but with AI technology from Bing Chat which will make it easier for users in everything on the Windows 11 operating system.

The First Presence And Its Abilities?

As we know, Windows Copilot is starting to be introduced in Windows 11 Insider Dev Build 23493where this feature will be available as sidebar in Windows 11 and users can access via taskbar.

As in the picture above, Windows Copilot appears similar to Bing Chat where there is conversation style which you can adjust to the style of Chatbot answers and also there form where you can ask many things including giving certain commands as actions for Windows 11.

Action? What action, min? Well, it’s different from Bing Chat, with Windows Copilot we can enter some special commands like “Change to dark mode” which will be triggers for actions that will be directly implemented in Windows 11, here is an example:

Apart from these commands, there are a number of other commands that you can enter, namely:

  • “Change to dark mode.”
  • “Turn on do not disturb.”
  • “Take a screenshot”

In the future, maybe there will be many additional action commands that will be present in Windows Copilot, and comment below guys, what do you think are the interesting commands that should be present in this feature?

Discussing capabilities, of course you shouldn’t forget that Windows Copilot works alone and is natively present in Windows 11, where even though it comes with Bing Chat capabilities, we don’t need browsers as before, just click and just type the command.

Comes With Bing Chat Capabilities

Apart from the above actions, of course Windows Copilot carries the main function of Bing Chat, such as providing answers in the form of conversations (which are currently limited to only 30 conversations), including being able to create an image generated by AI.

In my opinion, Windows Copilot is quite good as a digital assistant in Windows 11, because besides we can access Bing Chat directly without the help of the Microsoft Edge Chromium browser, we can also give special commands that can be applied directly in Windows 11.

But aside from the currently limited number of actions, there is one shortcoming which I think would be great if in the future this shortcoming is corrected and added, namely with the presence of a sound output such as Cortana, because in my opinion the Digital Assistant without sound is just as quiet as that.

Cortana vs Windows Copilot

Surely besides me there are many other users who agree, why can’t Cortana be remade using AI technology?

Now this doesn’t seem to be happening considering that Cortana itself has been officially discontinued and will not be redeveloped, besides that Cortana seems less popular in the previous Windows 10 era where Cortana was unable to compete with Google assistant, Siri and Alexa, making Cortana seem to be a stepchild. began to be abandoned and began to be separated from Windows 10.

While Cortana in the early days of its introduction was quite powerful because we could give a number of special commands, such as turning off Windows 10 and rebooting, Cortana was still very limited in terms of knowledge because it was not fully integrated with Bing and even its capabilities were still limited because AI had not yet been developed. as massively as it is today.

Meanwhile, Windows Copilot appears to be present as an alternative and successor to Cortana, where Windows Copilot will work like a Digital Assistant in Windows 11 but with better capabilities thanks to the help of AI and its integration with Bing Chat, and in the future it is possible that there will be many additional developments from This Windows Copilot.

And yeah, that’s a little discussion and my opinion about this Windows Copilot, where in my opinion Windows Copilot is a future feature for Windows that is even better, and of course this feature is very good and interesting for us to use, especially if you are a Bing Chat user but do not like the Microsoft Edge Chromium browser.

Do you have other opinions and opinions? comment below guys.
