Bing Chat is currently gaining popularity considering that besides being powered by GPT-4 from OpenAI, Bing Chat is also integrated with Microsoft Bing which allows Bing Chat to get a lot of information from there.

And on the sidelines of Microsoft continuing to improve their Bing Chat, reportedly Microsoft will also try to stop the possibility of their rivals using search data from Bing.

As reported by the latest report from Bloomberg And The Verges, based on their unfortunately undisclosed source, Microsoft has sent out warnings to two search engines that get their data from Bing. And while the report does not include the name of a specific search engine, it does say that Microsoft has informed them that if they wish to continue using the Bing API to power their own chatbot, Microsoft may cancel their contract and withdraw their Bing Search Engine support.

"We’ve been in touch with partners who are out of compliance as we continue to consistently enforce our terms across the board . . . . We’ll continue to work with them directly and provide any information needed to find a path forward." ungkap juru bicara Microsoft ke Bloomberg.

So then which Search Engine might Microsoft be referring to? If, based on history, Bing has also been a source of search engines from Yahoo for some time, then there is DuckDuckGo which uses the Bing API for their search data, and there is also Neeva Search Service which also uses data from Bing.

Of the three search engines mentioned above, only two search engines are reportedly developing their Chatbot technology, namely DuckDuckGo and NeevaAI, but of course there could be other search engines referred to by Microsoft.

Now with this news, this clearly makes Microsoft seem to want to monopolize their search engine data so that it is specifically for Bing Chat, and of course this is not a problem considering maybe even this is for the advancement of their own technology.

And well, we’ll see what it will be like in the future, considering that currently Bing Chat is still in the testing process. What do you think? comment below guys.
