A news quite surprising from Microsoft, where after about eight years of existence and getting active support, Microsoft revealed that Windows 10 will end in version Windows 10 22H2.

As for the news itself, it’s direct confirmed by Microsoft via page new announcementwhere they clearly announced that Windows 10 22H2 will be the last version of the OS that has been around for eight years.

As documented on the Windows 10 Enterprise and Education and Windows 10 Home and Pro lifecycle pages, Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. The current version, 22H2, will be the final version of Windows 10, and all editions will remain in support with monthly security update releases through that date. Existing LTSC releases will continue to receive updates beyond that date based on their specific lifecycles.

Even so, Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 10 Build 19045 will get support at least until October 14, 2025 where every month there will be cumulative updates And preview updates as usual, only there won’t be update feature and the presence of new features in this OS.

LTSC version support

Meanwhile, while the Home and Pro or Consumer Edition versions of Windows 10 will continue to receive support until October 2025, the supported LTSC versions include Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 And Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 will continue to receive support according to their respective schedules, which is until January 9, 2029 for the 2019 version and January 12, 2027 for the 2021 version.

No Windows 10 23H2 onwards

If previously Windows 10 would continue to get updates as usual until finally this OS was stopped supporting, now with this news it is update support period for Windows 10 22H2 will be the longest and not 18 months as usual, apart from that, there will be no Windows 10 version 23H2 and so on.

And yes, this is the end of Windows 10 which we have known for a long time, it’s just unexpected that Microsoft will advance the process by announcing that the final version of Windows 10 will be Windows 10 22H2 which was released in October 2022.
