Are there still Windows Portal Indonesia readers who use the Cortana application in Windows 10 or 11? If so, then there is bad news, guys, because the application, which is now separate and users can download and install from the Microsoft Store, will reportedly stop receiving support from Microsoft starting end of 2023.
Yep, in other words, the official Cortana application is dead and will no longer get any updates, whether it’s features and security. Regarding this news itself, it was revealed from the page official Microsoftwhere based on the page, nothing is clearly disclosed end of support from Cortana on Windows.
Instead of Cortana, Microsoft advises users to use a better digital assistant on Windows and Microsoft Edge which of course is powered by AI capabilities.
"We are making some changes to Windows that will impact users of the Cortana app. Starting in late 2023, we will no longer support Cortana in Windows as a standalone app. However, you can still access powerful productivity features in Windows and Edge, which have increased AI capabilities. This means you can still get help with your tasks, calendar, and email, but in new and exciting ways. This change only impacts Cortana in Windows, and your productivity assistant, Cortana, will continue to be available in Outlook mobile, Teams mobile, Microsoft Teams display, and Microsoft Teams rooms."
However, Cortana support will continue to work in Outlook Mobile, Teams Mobile, Microsoft Teams Display and Microsoft Teams Room, and end of support this only affects Cortana in the Windows ecosystem.
