Microsoft recently delivered announcement regarding their move to reduce Spam notifications in Microsoft Edge Chromium, according to the official information disclosed, during the blocking process, Microsoft Edge will identify websites that like to send spam to visitors and remove their notification rights so that those sites can no longer annoy users.

For those who don’t know, sometimes users like to be negligent in allowing notifications in the browser or it could be the result of a malicious application that the user installed himself, so sometimes notifications that appear on the desktop via the browser will display advertisements that are less relevant, whether it’s drugs, gambling, pornography sites and so on.

However, with this approach taken by Microsoft, this will now be prevented and reduced, but of course websites whose notifications are not banned explicitly by Microsoft will still display as usual.

Important Role of Users!

Although Microsoft is currently starting to reduce these annoying notifications, it is better if users also play a role in preventing unwanted things from happening, starting by not carelessly installing applications or extensions from sites that are not trusted, and also not allowing notifications from sites that sometimes force.

In addition, users can manage notifications from the web in the Google Chrome browser, as you can read in the following article: How to Set Up “Annoying” Web Notifications in Google Chrome or page How to Turn Off Website Notification Requests on Edge Chromium.

For complete information about this and the official announcement from Microsoft, you can just go to the page following. But for sure, these features and capabilities will be rolled out from the server side starting in Microsoft Edge 113.
