Dynamic Disk has become one of the features that deprecated on Windows 11 systems, so users are not recommended to use this configuration on their systems, but if users are still using dynamic diskusers may encounter error 0x8007001 when trying to update a Windows 11 system to Windows 11 22H2.
This issue was first reported on DeskModderwhere when the user tries to do in-place upgrade to Windows 11 version 22H2 in Disk set as dynamic, the user encounters the error.
However, when trying to change the file install.wim from Windows 11 22H2 to Windows 11 21H2, the upgrade process can run normally without any problems.
With that, for those of you who are currently still using the configuration dynamic disk it’s a good idea to change it to Basic, because once again, Dynamic Disk has become one of the most useful features deprecated on Windows OS.
To check whether disc You are basic or dynamic you can open Disk Management, then see if there is a label basic or dynamics.
