Some time ago, Microsoft released Windows 11 Insider Dev Build 25252 for Windows Insider Dev Channel users, where in this build, there are new features introduced and one of them is the new Taskbar Search in Windows 11.

However, even so this feature is not presented by default for everyone, where only selected users have got this feature, but as usual with ViveTool we can activate it and if you are curious, here WinPoin summarizes the short steps.

Step 1. First, make sure that you are using Windows 11 Insider Build 25252 or later.

Step 2. Then please download ViveTool from the GitHub page following and Extract the file that you have downloaded.

Step 3. Next open Windows Terminal as Administrator and go to directory Vivetool that you have extracted.

Step 3. Next, please enter the following command:

c:vivetoolvivetool /enable /id:38937525

This command is to activate the New Search Experience in Windows 11.

c:vivetoolvivetool /enable /id:40887771

The command is to add Search Highlights into the Search box.

c:vivetoolvivetool /enable /id:41415839

This command hides the Search bar in the Windows 11 Start Menu.

Step 5. When finished, please restart your Windows 11 and then new options will be available on the page Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar Items > then select “Search box” or “Search button” to test this new view.

Please try guys, good luck and hopefully useful.
