VirtualBox is one application virtual machine popular, not only for Windows users, but for Mac and Linux as well. This is because VirtualBox is an application cross platform which is available in almost all desktop operating systems.

Now regarding VirtualBox, recently the first Beta version of VirtualBox 7 has been released, where in this new version there are a number of interesting improvements.

Based on the changelog, there are several things that have changed in VirtualBox 7, the first is now Vorbis is now used as the default audio format for WebM containers, which Opus has been deprecated.

  • Guest Control: Added initial support for automatically updating guest accounts for Linux guests

  • VBoxManage: Guest Control added “waitrunlevel” sub-command to make it possible to wait for a guest to reach a certain runlevel
  • Windows Hosts: Added experimental support for running auto-started VMs in session 0 to allow running VMs even if no user is logged in (disabled by default, please read the manual)
