But friends, there is information that you must know, where it is reported that users cannot delete Threads accounts without deleting the user’s Instagram account. Regarding this, Meta confirms that deleting the Threads account will indeed result in terminating the linked Instagram account, so don’t delete it carelessly, guys.

Well besides that, in the yard privacy policy published recently, Meta details the reasons for this decision as according to Meta, profile Threads are an integral part of a user’s Instagram account. As a result, while users can deactivate their Threads profile at any time, they can only delete it by deleting the associated Instagram account.

Threads will integrate with third-party services ("Third Party Services") via an interoperable protocol, which will allow Threads users to share content with, view and interact with content from, follow, and be followed by people outside of Threads who use such services ("Third Party Users"). This integration with Third Party Services is not available at launch but will be coming to Threads soon.

You may deactivate your Threads profile at any time, but your Threads profile can only be deleted by deleting your Instagram account.

So in other words, you can’t delete your Threads account without deleting your Instagram account considering the two are related and even you need an Instagram account to start this new text-based social media from Meta.
