Previously we have received news that Firefox will provide support on Windows 7 and Windows 8 up to August 2023whereby users of this browser can at least feel a little safer to surf the Internet using this Mozilla browser.

Regarding this news, recently Mike Kaply, a Mozilla employee revealed that Firefox 115 ESR which will be available on July 4, 2023 will continue to support Windows 7 and 8, where the browser will receive updates and security fixes until at least Q3 of 2024.

For those who don’t know, Firefox ESR itself is a version of Firefox that gets an Extended Support Release and gets updates for up to 13 months.

Now, according to the information that was disclosed by Mike, quite a lot of Firefox users are still using Windows 7, at least in 2020 there were still 33% of Firefox users using the OS.

Even so, it is possible for the Firefox Browser version (non ESR) to still get maximum support until August 2023, but if users want to continue using the old OS, obsolete and still want to use Firefox, using Firefox ESR will be the best choice for users to use.

Unlike Firefox which did quite well on Windows 7 and 8 users, Google Chrome has dropped browser support on both OSes, and even according to recent reports, The Steam Client will stop running on the OS starting January 1, 2024.

So what do you think about this? comment below guys.
