With the release of the Pixel 6 series, Google also introduced a very powerful feature, namely the Magic Eraser. The usefulness of this feature is to eliminate people or objects that are considered disturbing.

Well, some time ago features Magic Eraser just got the addition of a new feature and now you can also change the color of the object according to what you want. That way, if there are objects or something that interferes with the photo you just took, then you can remove it or change the color to a more suitable one.

Unfortunately, this feature is only available on the Pixel 6 series only and there has been no sign from Google to bring this feature to the previous Pixel series. So, is there an alternative to the Magic Eraser feature for other Android users? Of course there are and here are some alternatives!

Snapseed is one of the most reliable photo editing apps I’ve ever used and it’s owned by Google too! Interestingly, its Heal feature can also help remove unwanted objects from images.

Of course, this app is free to use and also available for iOS devices. For those of you who don’t know how to use it, please follow the steps below:

  1. Select the image you want to delete the object
  2. Then just tap on Tools.
  3. Choose the Healing menu and just give highlights above the object you want to delete.

Although it has similar features, in fact Snapseed is not as good as Magic Eraser. This is because the Snapseed application does not use sophisticated algorithms to artificially create images and instead, this application chooses to use additional pixels to fill in areas or objects that you deleted earlier.

If you don’t mind, there’s a paid app (it costs $2) that’s not inferior in quality or maybe even better than Magic Eraser, the app called TouchRetouch. Anyway this is a paid application that meets your expectations, the results are good and there are no annoying ads.

For those of you who have purchased this application, here’s how to use TouchRetouch:

  1. Click the Album icon and load the image whose object you want to remove.
  2. Tap Object Removal and select the part you want to delete

Unlike other apps, Cleanup.pictures is a web tool that uses Samsung’s AI and is accessible to all devices — including computers and tablets. This service is completely free to use and what is most interesting is that there are no advertisements on the website.

So what about the results? You can see for yourself in the image below

Here’s how to use Cleanup.pictures:

  1. Open Cleanup.pictures and upload the image you want to change.
  2. Change the brush size according to your needs and highlight the part you want to erase.

Well, those are the 3 alternatives that DroidPoin recommends for those of you who want to use the Magic Eraser feature if you don’t have a Pixel 6 series.

Google has clearly provided features that were previously only accessible to professionals or creative teams and made it very easy to use. Unfortunately, Google doesn’t want to share this feature with older Pixel series yet, so you inevitably have to have the latest Pixel phones. If not, that’s okay, because you can try using some of the alternatives that DroidPoin has provided above.

Hope it’s useful
