Some time ago Apple was often rumored to be working on a new AR / VR headset. As a new device, of course it will be equipped with a new operating system as well.
Reportedly, Apple will use the name ‘realityOS’ as the name of the operating system on the AR/VR headset. The rumor is now getting stronger thanks to a trademark filing under the name ‘realityOS’.
Two trademark filings appeared at Trademarkia and the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) stated that RealityOS had been filed as a trademark since December 8, 2021.
Prior to this trademark filing, Apple was also caught providing a “realityOS” reference in the apple-oss-distributions source code. You can check the code yourself.
WWDC22 will be held next week. Will realityOS be introduced at the event soon?
