Recently Zac Bowden from Windows Central revealed that Microsoft is reportedly planning to unify the Intel and ARM-based Surface Pro and Pro X into a single unit.
If the current Microsoft Surface Pro is an Intel-based device while the ARM-based Microsoft Surface Pro X, based on tweets and information from Zac Bowden, maybe later the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 will be available in these two processor bases.
In other words, there won’t be a different naming as it currently is, and with that the Surface Pro 9 will be the first Surface device available with a different processor and chipset, either x86 or ARM.
“According to my sources, the company will offer the Surface Pro 9 in both ARM and Intel configurations, with the ARM variant being powered by a custom Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 SoC, dubbed the Microsoft SQ3.” Zac Bowden said quoted from Windows Central.
Although the news from Zac Bowden is based on a trusted source at Microsoft, of course this news is still just a rumor, because Microsoft could change its plans when the launch of Surcface Pro 9 later which is planned to be presented in October 2022.
