It’s no longer a secret that Epic Games is very good because it distributes many games every year, in 2022 Epic Games even distributes many cool game titles including Death Stranding, Starward Squadrons, Shadow of Tomb Raider, and many more.
Of the total games distributed in 2022, apparently friends, Epic Games has distributed a total of 99 game titles and 700 million games have been claimed by users last year.
In addition, there are several important things that are highlighted from this Epic Games announcement, which include:
- The Epic Games Store had 230 million users in 2022, up from 194 million in 2021.
- There were 34.3 million daily active users in 2022, and 68 million monthly active users, up from 62 million in 2021.
- The Epic Games Store is giving away 99 games in 2022 that are typically valued at a total of $2,240. More than 700 million free game downloads were made by 2022, and Epic promises to continue offering free games in 2023.
- 626 new games were added to the store in 2022, for a total of 1,548 games in the store library. That number is likely to grow even more with the new self-publishing support.
- Epic Games Store users spent $355 million on third-party apps in 2022, up 18 percent from 2021. If you add in revenue from Epic games like Fortnite and Rocket League, the total comes to $820 million, which is actually down 2 percent over the previous year.
Epic Games in 2023
According to the news circulating, in 2023, Epic Games will add features such as Content Hubs for publishers to offer more information on their games beyond the related games product pages.
In addition, Epic Games will also be adding support for subscription-based games, including the Epic Games Store launcher which will receive enhancements including launch times which is faster.
So that’s a bit of information that I can summarize from this Epic Games announcement. It turns out that there are also many games that users have claimed from Epic Games, and the figure of 700 million is of course not a small thing.
Even so, Epic Games certainly gets its own popularity with the giveaways they often do, and to be honest, even though there are many games that I have claimed, only a few have I played and even then it’s very rare.
