A few days ago Microsoft Xbox head Phil Spencer revealed that Microsoft plans to launch a Mobile Game Store in order to better compete with Apple and Google, which in his recent interview with FT, Phil Spencer revealed additional details about the plan.

Phil Spencer said that Microsoft will take advantage of the European Union’s Digital Market Act which will allow Apple and Google to open their iOS and Android mobile operating systems to third-party App Stores starting in March 2024. Spencer also said that they look forward to bringing Xbox games, and games from other publishers, to all kinds of screens.

"Today, we can't do that on mobile devices but we want to build towards a world that we think will be coming where those devices are opened up."

Moreover, since Microsoft is also planning to acquire Activision Blizzard, if the acquisition deal is successful, Microsoft will offer mobile games like Call of Duty Mobile, Diablo Immortal, and Candy Crush Saga on their Mobile Apps Store.

Of course, details on this are still pretty limited, and there’s even no word on how soon Microsoft could launch their third-party Apps Store next year, but Spencer said it would be “quite trivial” to offer Xbox games and the Xbox Game Pass service to Smartphone devices. .

And despite that, the Xbox Cloud Gaming service available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers has also allowed Android device owners to play more than 100 games with the Microsoft Xbox Android app, and even iOS owners, to access the service through the Xbox website in Safari.

So, what will Microsoft’s planned Apps Store look like? and will they monopolize the Mobile Game market with the acquisition of Activition? it is of course still a mystery, but we’ll just have to wait and see what it will be like next year. What do you think? comment below guys.
