Recently Microsoft has released a new update for Microsoft Edge Dev Channel users where the update presented is version 116.0.1938.1 of their flagship browser.
In this 116.0.1938.1 update, Microsoft is bringing many improvements, but one that WinPoin might discuss in a little detail is Workspaces which can now be key users.
The workspace in Microsoft Edge Chromium can be said to be quite different from the Workspace in Opera, for example, because here, we can work in real time on the workspace together with other users that we have previously invited.
This is certainly in line with Microsoft’s statement regarding this feature which states “You and your group can browse the same set of tabs on different devices and be in sync at all times.”.
And with this 116.0.1938.1 update, now users can do it lock tabs which is available in the Workspace, where if it is activated (locked), then other users who are members of your Workspace will not be able to tamper with the contents of that tab.
This improvement is certainly very necessary, especially if users are collaborating with other users without wanting interruptions and distractions, let alone editing things that are not needed on the tabs in the workspace that you are working on. How? cool isn’t it?
And like in the picture above, if the Tab is locked, there will be a lock icon image and if you hover the mouse over there, there will be information opened by who and locked by who which will show who created and locked the tab.
Apart from these improvements, there are actually many other improvements especially to Microsoft Edge Chromium Dev on other platforms including iOS which is now getting a fix when the browser crashes when the user taps on the search bar, then there is an improvement address bar And closed button which does not work when the user enters the mode split screen, workspace menu which doesn’t work when clicked, and many more.
But for sure, you really have to get this update on Microsoft Edge Chromium, especially if you are a user who takes advantage of the Workspace feature.
