Last November 2021, Microsoft released a Windows 11 Enterprise Virtual Machine which contains a number of Enterprise-class features and is indeed needed in development.
Just like the previous version, this File Virtual machine consists of several different files according to the user’s preferred VM application preferences, there are VMWare, Hyper-V, VirtualBox and Parallels, and not only Windows 11 Enterprise, there are a number of things that are included in this VM among others are :
- Windows 11 Enterprise (Evaluation)
- Visual Studio 2022 with the UWP, .NET Desktop, Azure, and Windows App SDK for C# workloads enabled
- Windows Subsystem for Linux enabled with Ubuntu installed
- Developer mode enabled
- Windows Terminal installed
Reporting from the Microsoft page, this VM package has an expiration date of September 11, 2022, not long, right?, of course because this is the Evaluation version which as usual has a time limit of approximately 90 days.
Size and How to Download
For its size, this VM package is around 20 GB in size, which is quite large, because once again it includes a number of applications and even WSL with the Ubuntu distro.
As for how to download it, you can just go to the page https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/virtual-machines/ to download this Windows 11 Enterprise VM.
