Apart from releasing updates KB5028254 For Windows 11 22H2 Insider Release Preview ChannelMicrosoft also released update KB5028247 for Windows 11 Insider Beta users which of course are still separated into two different builds, namely 22621 and 22631.
With the KB5028247 update, the OS build will be upgraded to 22621.2048 And 22631.2048which is specific to Build 22631.2048there are a number of new features introduced, including existence galleries in file explorer.
"We are introducing Gallery, a new feature in File Explorer designed to make it easy to access your photo collection. The set of content shown in Gallery is the same as what you’ll see in the All Photos view in the Photos app." ungkap Microsoft.
As you can see in the image above, the Gallery will display all of the photo collections stored in libraries Your Windows 11, the appearance itself is similar to the one available in the options All photos view in the Photos app.
However, please note that the new Gallery is optimized to access the last photo taken by the user by displaying the sequence/timeline of when the photo was taken.
In addition, interestingly this Gallery will now work as file picking dialog where later when you want to enter attachments photo, then galleries this is what will open by default.
Apart from the presence of Gallery in File Explorer, there are a number of other changes that include its existence end task in an open app on the Taskbar, there is the ability drag n drop in the File Explorer Tab, and any changes For Developers which has now been moved from the Settings > Privacy & security page to Settings > System.
Meanwhile, there are additional improvements included taskbar repair which sometimes hangs, there is an improvement explorer.exe which crashes when a user tries to open a folder containing files of .webp format, and more.
And there’s an addition too, Microsoft announced that Windows 11 23H2 Is an Enablement Package and Will Be Available Q4 This Yearand most likely all the features introduced in the Insider Beta will be available in that build, including the presence of a new Gallery in File Explorer.
"Windows Insiders on Build 22631 will see the versioning updated under Settings > System > About (and winver) to version 23H2. This denotes that Windows 11, version 23H2 will be this year’s annual feature update which will be delivered to customers similar to the most recent Windows 10 feature updates. As mentioned here, Windows 11 will have an annual feature update cadence that releases in the second half of the calendar year. For more information, see this blog post here." ungkap Microsoft.
Apart from that, unfortunately there isn’t any information for Build 22621.2048, but for users who want to update the system to Build xxxx.2048, you can just go to the Settings page > Windows Update > Check for Updates > Download and install the KB5028247 update available there.
