Apart from Insider Dev and Canary who didn’t get any new updates, this week Insider Beta and Release Preview users got an update that brought a number of improvements in it.
Specifically for Insider Beta, the update that is presented itself is update KB5023775 which will change the OS Build to 22621.1465 and 22624.1465. And as usual for those of you who don’t know that Insider Beta is divided into two separate builds, Build 22621 contains new features by default. non-active and 22624 contains new features which by default it has active.
So what updates are coming in this update?, reported from the Microsoft page, in this new update for Insider Beta they now bring more languages in Live Caption including Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish and more English dialects.
In addition, on the Settings page and more precisely on the Keyboard Settings, Microsoft updates touch keyboard settings, where you can set how touch keyboard Work.
You can see the new options on the page Settings > Time & language > Typing > Touch keyboardwhere you can find options dropdown to set how touch keyboard come on stage.
Also for Build 22624 users, the Network Icon in the System Tray will now change if the user uses a VPN connection as shown in the following image.
And the fourth is that now Voice Access is also being improved again, where in part help page now has a new look that is more fresh.
Meanwhile for Builds 22621 and 22624, there are a number of other improvements which include fixes to:
- This update implements phase three of Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) hardening. See KB5004442. After you install this update, you cannot turn off the changes using the registry key.
- This update addresses an issue that affects a computer account and Active Directory. When you reuse an existing computer account to join an Active Directory domain, joining fails. This occurs on devices that have installed Windows updates dated October 11, 2022 or later. The error message is, “Error 0xaac (2732): NERR_AccountReuseBlockedByPolicy: ‘An account with the same name exists in Active Directory. Re-using the account was blocked by security policy.’” For more information, see KB5020276.
And in general, the improvements that have been presented have been presented in Insider Dev Build 23403 two weeks, so if you are also an Insider Dev user you are already familiar with some of the improvements above.
So if you are an Insider Beta user and want to get this update, you can just slide to the Settings > Windows Update > Check for Updates page and then download the available updates there.
