Recently Microsoft announce that they have added a new function to Microsoft Excel, where this feature is one of the request that the user wants.

This new function is the ability to add images to cells, where the commands that the user can use are as follows:

=IMAGE("url-gambar","nama-gambar")

An example is as in the following image.

For now, the new functionality is limited to Insider Beta Channel users, where the version of Microsoft Office that needs to be used is version 2209 (Build 15608.10000) or later.

In addition, this feature also works not only for Windows, but for Mac, iOS and Android, so of course this function is more flexible to use.

Versions that already support this feature:

  • Windows: Version 2209 (Build 15608.10000) or later
  • Mac: Version 16.65 (Build 22080701) or later
  • iOS: Version 2.65 (Build 22080701) or later
  • Android: 16.0.15608.10000 or later

Regarding this feature, because it is currently still in testing and can only be used for Office Insider users, keep in mind that there are still a number of known issues in this function, one of which is image url if taken from a site that requires authentication, then the image will not appear, otherwise switching between platforms (eg from Windows to Mac), the results will be different.

So what do you think about this feature? comment below guys.
