If you have read about End of Support List of Microsoft Services and Products in 2023you probably know that Windows Server 2012 and R2 will reach end of support on October 10, 2023 later.

But for those OS users who happen to be using Microsoft Edge Chromium, there is good news, because Microsoft recently report that they will extend Microsoft Edge Chromium support for both OS until at least October 2023 this year.

Generally, Microsoft Edge Chromium support ends on January 10, 2023 at the same time it ends end of support Windows 7 (ESU) and Windows 8 or 8.1, but because end of support from Windows Server 2012 and R2 is still fairly long, so Microsoft decided to extend its support specifically for Windows Server 2012 and R2.

“Microsoft Edge version 109 will be the last supported version on Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 (version 110 and later will be unavailable). Version 109 will receive critical security fixes and fixes for known exploit bugs until October 10, 2023. WebView2 Runtime version 109 will be supported in the same way.” Microsoft said.

So, for you Windows Server 2012 and R2 users, you can still get Microsoft Edge Chromium at least until October 2023, but with a note that the final version is Microsoft Edge 109 but with several additional updates that include security updates inside it.
