If you like news about problems and bugs then you’ve come to the right article again guys, because recently Microsoft officially announced and confirmed a new issue that affects Windows 7, 8.1, 10 and 11, where this issue is related to the database connection on a number of Windows applications.

According to Microsoft, Windows 10 and 11 users may experience issues with applications using ODBC connections (sqlsrv32.dll) to access databases. The affected programs may display the following error:

The EMS System encountered a problem” with “Message: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Protocol error in TDS Stream” or “Message: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Unknown token received from SQL Server.

And regarding this problem, as stated above, even though the official page says this problem has been found since the update KB5019980 on OS Build 22621.819, but this problem doesn’t only affect Windows 10 and 11, because in page same, this problem also affects Windows 7 and 8.1.

So if you encounter a problem like the one mentioned above, you can open it command prompt as administrator and then entering the following command to temporarily resolve it:

tasklist /m/ sqlsrv32.dll

Did you encounter this problem? comment below guys.
