For users who are familiar with keyboard shortcuts paste text only or ctrl + shift + v may already be familiar that in Microsoft Word the keyboard shortcut is not available for users to use.
But regarding this, in its announcement Microsoft will finally present the keyboard shortcut for Microsoft Word, where later users can press the ctrl + shift + v key combination to perform paste text only and it doesn’t have to be by right-clicking which takes more steps.
So for now, this capability is available for Microsoft 365 Home and Business Standard users who use the Beta version includes the version 16.0.15831.20174 or later, and also for the Mac version in version 16.67.1113.0 or later.
With the presence of this keyboard shortcut, there are several keyboard shortcuts that have also changed in Microsoft Word, including:
Featured | New Shortcuts (Windows) | New Shortcuts (Mac) |
Paste Text Only | Ctrl + Shift + V | Cmd + Shift + V |
Copy Format Painter | Ctrl + Alt + C | Cmd + Option + C |
Paste Format Painter | Ctrl + Alt + V | Cmd + Option + V |
Paste Special | Alt + H + V + S | None |
Copyright Symbol | ( + C + ) or Insert > Ω Symbol > © | ( + C + ) or Insert > Ω Symbol > © |
Meanwhile, this feature may be available first for Microsoft 365 users, but it is still unknown whether Microsoft Office 2021 users will also get the same feature.
This feature itself will certainly be very useful for users who work with Microsoft Word, especially if we have to take references from the Internet that contain links, if we paste them with ctrl + v then the links will be included in the text, and if we want to paste only text Of course, we have to right-click to select the Paste as Text option. However, with this new feature, we can paste text directly via a keyboard shortcut, regardless of the conditions.
So what do you think? comment below guys.
