Yesterday it was reported that Twitter was finally getting the feature Encrypted DM which of course will be very useful to improve the security of user communication.

But friends, after Twitter officially released documentation from the announcement, in fact the encrypted DM feature is not available to all users.

Yep, this feature is now an exclusive feature for verified users or companies, for example Twitter Blue users who already get a blue tick in their subscription package.

In addition, the encrypted DM feature itself only works between verified users, where if one of them is an ordinary user (non-verified), the DM will still be the same as it is today (unencrypted).

As in the picture above, if the DM has got encryption implemented in it, then there will be a sign padlock which is a marker.

In addition to the things that have been stated above, not all of the content that will be encrypted, where at this time the feature only supports text and links, other media such as videos and photos can still be seen by Twitter.

"An encrypted message can only include text and links; media and other attachments are not supported yet. When users attempt to send media via an encrypted conversation, this action will not be completed. Reactions to encrypted messages are also encrypted. Also, while messages themselves are encrypted, metadata (recipient, creation time, etc.) are not, and neither is any linked content (only links themselves, not any content they refer to, is encrypted)." ungkap Twitter.

So apart from that, it turns out that there are still many limitations to this feature, including a maximum of 10 devices per user, no support for group messages, and so on.

Initially many liked the presence of this improvement, but now everything has changed because it seems that to get this feature, users like it or not have to subscribe to Twitter Blue.

What do you think? comment below guys.
