Recently, Microsoft confirmed that there is an issue with the Intel SST (Smart Sound Technology) driver compatibility in Windows 11 22H2, where users of the driver may experience BSOD (Bluescreen of Death) issues in their Windows 11.
“Intel and Microsoft have found incompatibility issues with certain versions of drivers for Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) on Intel 11th Gen Core processors and Windows 11. Windows 11 devices with the affected Intel SST driver might receive an error with a blue screen. The affected driver will be named IntelĀ® Smart Sound Technology (IntelĀ® SST) Audio Controller under System Devices in Device Manager and have the file name IntcAudioBus.sys and a file version of 10.29.0.5152 or 10.30.0.5152. Only devices with both an Intel 11th Gen Core processors and an Intel SST driver version of 10.29.0.5152 or 10.30.0.5152 are affected by this issue.Microsoft explained in official page.
As Microsoft explained above, this issue only applies to users with Intel Gen 11 and using the Driver version 10.29.0.5152 or 10.30.0.5152.
Regarding this, a number of users reported that by installing the Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) driver version 10.30.00.5714 or 10.29.00.5714 or newer will no longer have this problem.
With this, if you are using an Intel Gen 11 processor, and are using Intel Smart Sound Technology, it’s a good idea to update your driver in case you encounter persistent BSOD issues caused by the driver.
