For those of you who have joined the waiting list program from Bing Chat, of course you are required to download and use the Microsoft Edge Chromium browser to use Microsoft’s new chatbot.

But what if you don’t want to use Microsoft Edge? Can you still open and try Bing Chat in other browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox? just be Microsoft Edge Chromium.

Here are the steps you can take to try Bing Chat on Google Chrome without having to install Microsoft Edge Chromium.

Step 1. Make sure you have registered to try Bing Chat, please enter the following page and make sure you get page information like the following.

Step 2. Next, on that page, please right-click > Inspect.

Step 3. Then click the three dots (Customize and control DevTools) > More tools > Network Conditions.

Step 4. Please remove the checklist in the “Use default browser” section and then select Microsoft Edge Chromium – Windows.

When finished, please restart the Bing.com/new page and now the Chat option has appeared.

Henceforth, you can use Bing Chat as usual which looks like the following image.

If you experience failure and you are still asked to download Microsoft Edge, please check steps 2 to 4 again, which are the mandatory steps you need to take to solve the problem.

So, those are some tips for those of you who want to use Bing Chat without having to download and install Microsoft Edge Chromium. I myself have repeatedly used this step, considering that I don’t like having to download and use Microsoft Edge Chromium on the Linux Ubuntu that I use.
