How to Enable Edge VPN in Microsoft Edge Chromium

In May 2022, it was reported that Microsoft Officially Launches VPN on Microsoft Edge Chromiumwhere selected users can already try the new feature.

Now for Edge VPN or Secure Network, the way it works is the same as for VPNs in general, where the network will be encrypted, as well as some information will be hidden, which includes encrypted IP addresses, traffic and data.

But different from VPNs in general, Secure Network in Microsoft Edge only allows server selection from the local area, where we cannot choose servers from various countries like other VPNs.

And since Edge Canary users are now able to use Edge VPN, the following WinPoin summarizes the short steps on how to activate Edge VPN on Microsoft Edge Chromium, bearing in mind that this feature is not available by default and we need to activate it manually.

Step 1. First, make sure you are using the latest Edge Chromium Canary, and have logged in with the Microsoft account that you have.

Step 2. Next, please enter the page Settings > Privacy, search and services > then enable Microsoft Edge Secure Network.

You can set the settings yourself, starting from Select Sites, Optimized and All Sites. The option certainly has its advantages, and of course using the option All Sites more recommended, maybe I will make a review about Edge VPN in a separate article.

Step 3. If already activated, in section toolbars there will appear Edge VPN buttonthen please click Get VPN for freeand log in again with the Microsoft account that you have (if not already logged in).

And it’s done, now the VPN is active, and you have got it bandwidth 1GB monthly.

So that’s a quick look at How to Activate Edge VPN on Microsoft Edge Chromium, for the review I will make in a separate article, and a little information too, that on Edge Canary v110.0.1563.0, Microsoft has started sharing bandwidth of 15 GB per month, from only 1 GB initially.
