After being a recommended feature for Chromium Gerrit for a long time, finally the Mica and Mica Alt Windows 11 implementations are now available in the Google Chrome browser.
With this implementation, it will render browser tab stip be more visually appealing, and of course indirectly make it more similar to Microsoft Edge Chromium.
If you notice, with Mica’s implementation, the tab view will become more transparent in Windows 11, which will make it more suitable for running on customizing background desktop that the user uses.
This display itself has been implemented in Microsoft Edge Chromium for a long time, and with the presence of the same features in Google Chrome, this is an interesting improvement, especially if Windows 11 users prefer to use Google’s browser.
In addition, please note that Proposed changes to Chromium Gerrit suggested implementing two variants of Mica Material namely (regular and alternative), but Google decided to go with Mica Alt. It is more vibrant and colorful compared to the slightly muted standard Mica.
