Who would have thought that one of the best employees could leave for a competing company just because of a WFO policy problem, aka returning to work?
At least that’s what happened to Ian Goodfellow, the director of Machine Learning at Apple who decided to move to Google because Apple wanted its employees back into the office.
More precisely, Ian Goodfellow moved from Apple to DeepMind, a subsidiary of Alphabet. It’s just that there is still no definite information regarding what position he holds at DeepMind.
DeepMind is a machine learning startup that was bought by Google in 2014. DeepMind is also famous for releasing Gato, a multi-task and multi-modal AI system.
Do you think he will move from DeepMind if the WFO policy will also be implemented there?
