Along with the release of the iOS 15.5 and macOS Monterey 12.4 updates, Apple also released the firmware update version 15.5 for Studio Display external monitors.
The update is claimed by Apple to be able to improve the quality of the front camera or Studio Display webcam which was previously often complained of by its users.
As is well known, Studio Display uses a 12MP Ultra Wide camera and supports Center Stage. However, the camera quality is claimed to be not too good due to the cropping process at 12MP resolution on the Ultra Wide lens.
Some improvements from Apple that are claimed to improve image quality are camera tuning, improvements to noise reduction, contrast, framing, and so on.
