To open the Picture in Picture or PiP feature in Firefox, when we watch a video we can click on the video and then select Picture in Picture in the Context Menu.

But did you know that in the latest Firefox 113, Mozilla plans to present an additional button to enter this mode via the Address bar.

This is indicated by the presence of new options on the page about:configwhere by activating the option media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.urlbar-button.enabled become true.

Later when the user is watching a video, the url bar or address bar will present a new button as shown below.

Now, if you want to try this feature, you have to use Firefox 113 Beta, but if you want to wait, this feature will be present in Firefox Stable 113 which will be released on May 9, 2023.

Besides that, when it’s released later, it’s likely that this feature is present by default without any additional settings that we need to do first, but let’s see, guys.

But certainly, with the presence of this option, it will make it easier for users who sometimes don’t know where the options are picture in picture which sometimes we have to activate with double right click on a video in Firefox or in Google Chrome.

What do you think about the presence of this new option? comment below guys.
