For Microsoft Edge Mobile users, downloaded files will automatically go to local storage, but there is an improvement that Microsoft has just presented in Microsoft Edge version 111, where Microsoft presents an option to save downloaded files automatically to OneDrive.

Even so, this new option and experience is only available specifically for OneDrive for Business users and those with Azure Active Directory accounts, of course, because this new experience is more intended for those business users who are concerned with security, where if important files stored on mobile devices , data leaks can occur due to unwanted things, with that Microsoft provides their new solution.
"This new method of saving files joins other Edge data security measures such as the Edge mobile app's coverage under Intune’s App Protection Policy (APP) and its limited sharing of browser data only to other protected Microsoft 365 apps, such as Outlook and One Drive."
To try this new feature, users can follow the following steps, starting from logging in to Microsoft Edge Mobile with Azure AD accountsensure admin intune set App Protection Policy (APP) for the user, and if the user has set up “Save copies of org data” as block, user must allow OneDrive manually.
So once again, this feature is not available to all users, especially regular OneDrive users and specifically for users with Azure Active Directory accounts.
